After Effects CC 2022: How To Use Texturize Effect

This tutorial will show you how to use the Texturize Effect in Adobe After Effects CC 2022 to add textures to individual layers or to the entire Composition. The Texturize Effect is under the ‘Stylize’ Effects Category.

How To Use the Texturize Effect in Adobe After Effects CC 2022:
- Create a New Composition (Cmd + N)
- Drag any Texture File on the Composition Window
- Add A New Adjustment Layer (right-click and select New…Adjustment Layer)
- Select Adjustment Layer
- Go to ‘Effects & Presets’ (Window…Effects & Presets)
- Click in Search Box and type in ‘Texturize’ and it will be in the ‘Stylize’ category
- Drag Texturize Effect on the Adjustment Layer
- Select Adjustment Layer
- Go to ‘Effect Controls’
- Go to ‘Texture Layer’
- Click the drop-down menu and select the Texture Layer to apply texture
- Go to Layers Panel and uncheck the Eyeball 👀 to hide the texture layer
- Adjust Settings to desired look and style you want
How To ‘Stack’ Textures or Strengthen Intensity:
- Drag a new texture file onto the Layers Panel
- Go to ‘Effect Controls’
- Click on ‘Texturize’
- Right-click and select Duplicate or press Cmd/Ctrl + D to duplicate Texturize Effect
- The Texture should be more intense
- Go to ‘Texture Layer’ of duplicated Effect
- Click the drop-down menu and select the Texture Layer to apply texture
- Go to ‘Texture Layer’
- Click the drop-down menu and select the new Texture Layer to apply texture
- Go to Layers Panel and uncheck the Eyeball 👀 to hide the texture layer
- Adjust Settings to desired look and style you want
How To Replace Textures:
- Select Texture Layer in the Layers Panel
- Press and hold the Option or Alt Key
- Drag a new texture file onto the existing texture
