Description:
This tutorial will show you how to animate the Source Text Property in Adobe After Effects CC 2023 to change the Text without have to add additional Text Layers.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
Cmd/Ctrl + T: Add Text|
Shift + Cmd/Ctrl + Right Arrow: Move CTI Forward 10 Frames

Different Ways To Add Text:
Click on the T for Text Tool (double-click to center in Comp)
Use the Keyboard Shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + T
Go to the Layers Menu and Select New…Text
Right-click anywhere and select New…Text

How To Enable Time Remapping & Extend Layer in Adobe After Effects CC 2023:
- Select Layer
- Right-Click and select Time and then ‘Enable Time Remapping’
- Two Keyframes will be automatically added
- Click at the end of the layer and extend the duration to the end of the timeline
- Adjust the keyframes to the speed you want (further apart = slower)
How To Add loopOut Expression:
- Hold the Opt/Alt Key
- Click on the Stopwatch for Time Remapping Property
- Type in the Expression: loopOut( )
- The layer should not loop endlessly
How To Pre-Compose Layers:
- Select Layer(s)
- Right-click
- Select ‘Pre-Compose’ (Shift + Cmd/Ctrl + C)
- In this tutorial I select ‘Leave all attributes in…’
How To Fix Pre-Comp + loopOut Glitch (Empty Frame Issue):
- Right-Click on Pre-Comp and select Time and then ‘Enable Time Remapping’
- Two Keyframes will be automatically added
- Go to 2nd Keyframe (J/K to jump to keyframes)
- Select 2nd Keyframe to confirm you are on the keyframe
- Go back in time 1 keyframe (Cmd/Ctrl + left arrow)
- Click on the diamond to the left of the Time Remap property
- Go to 3rd Keyframe (tap K to jump to next keyframes)
- Delete 3rd Keyframe
- Glitch issue should be resolved.
