How To Use Responsive Design-Time in Adobe After Effects CC 2023:

  1. Create a new Composition
  2. Add Footage and create animations
  3. Go to the Composition Menu
  4. Click on Responsive Design-Time
  5. Select Create Intro or Outro to create ‘Protective Region’ at the beginning or end of Timeline
  6. Select ‘Create Protected Region from Work Area’ to generate protected region of work area

How To Manually Create Protected Regions:

  1. Create a new Composition
  2. Add Footage and create animations
  3. Drag CTI to beginning of animation to be protected
  4. Add a Composition Marker (Shift + 8) or click on Marker Icon to the right of Timeline
  5. Double-click on Marker to open Marker Dialogue Box
  6. Enter Duration of Protected Region (if known)
  7. Enter Notes/Comments to Label Marker
  8. Add Color Label
  9. Tick Box ‘Protected Region’
  10. Click Ok
