  1. How To Import Photoshop (.psd) File into After Effects CC 2023:

    1. Save Photoshop Document as .psd file
    2. Open After Effects
    3. Go to File Menu and select Import…Files (or use Cmd/Ctrl + i)
    4. or, Double-click on empty space in Project Panel to open Finder or Explorer
    5. Locate .psd File and select ‘Open’
    6. Import as ‘Composition – Retain Layer Sizes’
    7. Tick ‘Create Composition’
    8. Untick ‘Photoshop Sequence’
    9. Click ‘Open’ to Import into After Effects
    10. In After Effects dialogue box select ‘Composition – Retain Layer Sizes’
    11. Tick ‘Editable Layer Styles’
    12. Click ‘OK’
    13. After Effects creates new Composition and Folder of .psd files (layers)

    How To Convert Photoshop Text Layers to Editable Text in After Effects:

    1. In Project Panel, double-click new Photoshop Composition that was created to open
    2. Select Text Layers to be edited
    3. Right-Click
    4. Select ‘Create’
    5. Select ‘Convert to editable text’
    6. Click
    7. Select Type Tool (Cmd/Ctrl + T)
    8. Edit Text Layers
