How To Use Color Expression Controls in Adobe After Effects:
- Create a New Composition (1920x1080px)
- Add Background Layers
- Add Shapes with Fill & Stroke colors
- Add Text
- Add Fill Color Effect on Text Layer
- Create a New Adjustment Layer (or Null Object)
- Select Adjustment Layer
- Go to Effect Menu
- Select ‘Expressions’
- Select ‘Color Control’
- Go to ‘Effect Control Panel’
- Select Color Control
- Tap Enter/Return to rename
- Duplicate 2 times by right-clicking or pressing Cmd/Ctrl + D
- Rename Color Controls (Shape_Fill, Shape_Stroke, Text_Fill)
- Select ‘Color Controls’ layer
- Lock ‘Effect Controls Panel’ so Color Controls are always visible
- Select Shape & Text Layers
- Click in Search field and type ‘Color’ to bring up all color properties
- Drag the pick-whip next to teach color and drag to the corresponding Color Control in the Effects Control Panel
- Repeat for all properties
- Change the colors in the Effect Controls Panel
- Animate by clicking on the stopwatches
