Default Input:
Source of sound going into Audition (Microphone, Audio Interface, Mixer, RodeCaster Pro, USB Microphone)
Default Input:
Source of sound going out of Audition (Headphones, External Monitors/Speakers, Computer Speakers)

How To Set Audio Preferences in Adobe Audition CC 2023:
- Open Adobe Audition
- Go To Audition in the top menu (or click Cmd/Ctrl + Comma to open)
- Click on ‘Settings’
- Select ‘Audio Hardware’ in the sidebar
- Click on the drop-down menu next to Default Input
- Select the device controlling the gain of the microphone
- Click on the drop-down next to Default Output
- Click on the device that controls the headphones or speakers
- Click ‘OK’
How To Enable Audio Levels (Meter Input Signal)
- Go to View Menu
- Go to ‘Metering’
- Click on ‘Meter Input Signal’
- Or use keyboard shortcut Opt/Alt + i to view audio level meters
