Default Input:
Source of sound going into Audition (Microphone, Audio Interface, Mixer, RodeCaster Pro, USB Microphone)

Default Input:
Source of sound going out of Audition (Headphones, External Monitors/Speakers, Computer Speakers)

How To Set Audio Preferences in Adobe Audition CC 2023:

  1. Open Adobe Audition
  2. Go To Audition in the top menu (or click Cmd/Ctrl + Comma to open)
  3. Click on ‘Settings’
  4. Select ‘Audio Hardware’ in the sidebar
  5. Click on the drop-down menu next to Default Input
  6. Select the device controlling the gain of the microphone
  7. Click on the drop-down next to Default Output
  8. Click on the device that controls the headphones or speakers
  9. Click ‘OK’


How To Enable Audio Levels (Meter Input Signal)

  1. Go to View Menu
  2. Go to ‘Metering’
  3. Click on ‘Meter Input Signal’
  4. Or use keyboard shortcut Opt/Alt + i to view audio level meters
